· Who makes up the peer review panels?
The Journal utilizes professional persons in various disciplines for peer review. Reviewers in the fields of biomedical research, computing applications, education, engineering, ethics, business practices, and other disciplines are utilized.
· What content is acceptable to the Journal?
The Journal accepts scholarly articles concerning most subjects having to do with basic scientific research, the practical applications of scientific advances, business research, the practical applications of various business practices, case studies of a scientific or business nature, individual and group dynamics, and similar concepts. Included in this would be both concepts of practical application, and opinion or position papers.
· What content is not acceptable to the Journal?
The Journal will not accept any work which, in the view of the publisher, represents political opinion, or is structured to advance one or more political viewpoints. Similarly, the Journal will not accept any work which is of a basic religious nature. Basic ethical questions may be discussed, but only if they are within the context of a broader discussion of a business nature. There are other restrictions which will be disclosed prior to submission of articles.
· How is the Journal funded and distributed?
The Journal is distributed free, via the internet. Articles accepted for publication will be protected by copyright, but of course there is no assurance of their sanctity. Authors of accepted works pay a reasonable fee for editing and hosting services. The fee is assessed only after an article is accepted for publication.
· What are my chances of having an article accepted?
One of the basic tenets of the Journal is that within the constraints of the Journal’s Publication Guidelines, and its Publication Agreement with Authors, no author should be denied access to a public forum for their work. In practice, most manuscripts meeting those tenets, will be accepted.
· How is the Journal different from a blog?
Blogs generally represent the opinions of an individual, and as such are generally limited in scholarly scope. The Journal, on the other hand, accepts only papers and articles that are prepared within the generally accepted norms of professional paper publication, and that contribute to the overall knowledge pool of science and business.
· What will publishing in the Journal do for me?
The first and foremost reason to publish in the Journal is the same reason that authors publish in any other journal – the fulfillment of personal needs and/or desires.
Publishing can bring about credibility or notoriety, fulfill requirements of employers, build professional networks of individuals with similar interests, etc. Prospective authors are encouraged to carefully evaluate whether the time and monetary investment in preparing and publishing a scholarly article will fulfill their personal needs in a commensurate way.
